Kamaroi2013-4 Steiner High School students often have an opportunity to travel to Central Australia, or other remote regions for work with indigenous communities. They learn about the land, indigenous culture and often develop strong relationships. Some schools have regular ongoing programs, undertaking extensive service, cultural and wilderness projects with remote indigenous schools and communities. Senior students develop new friendships and may even work with and support indigenous children in their learning. The experiences are challenging, leaving positive, deep and lasting effects on students.
