Steiner Education Australia is proud to announce that Reconciliation Australia has formally endorsed the SEA Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2019 – 2021.
Reconciliation Australia CEO, Karen Mundine states: ‘On behalf of Reconciliation Australia, I commend Steiner Education Australia on its first RAP, and look forward to following its ongoing reconciliation journey’.
CEO of Steiner Education Australia, Virginia Moller speaks highly of the rigorous and supportive process SEA undertook with Reconciliation Australia to develop the Innovate RAP. ‘Our vision is to inspire Steiner schools, the broader education sector and the community to fully embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in the education of all children who are our future’.
‘Key focus areas include actively promoting Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunawali schools’ program and the development of school Reconciliation Action Plans in our member schools’.
The SEA RAP includes wonderful artwork ‘Sea of Opportunity’ from Artist Muraay Djeripi, which symbolises the gesture of partnership. ‘This work depicts the coming together of two camps in communication, purpose and relationship.Their shared objectives dictate a shared pathway and direction. The result of their combined and concerted effort is the reward of True Reconciliation’.
The SEA Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan is now on the SEA website and will soon be available for viewing on the Reconciliation Australia website.Aug 2019
