Outstanding IB Results – Class of 2016
Sophia Mundi Steiner School
We would like to warmly congratulate the Class of 2016 on their excellent International Baccalaureate Diploma results; the outcome is a great credit to our students, their teachers and the community. All our senior students undertake the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which is a world-recognised alternative to the VCE, and have constantly performed well above the international average.
In total, 100% of candidates who studied the Diploma passed and 40% of the 2016 cohort earned an ATAR over 90 (top 10% of the State). Our Dux for 2016 (May graduation) received an IB mark of 42 and notional ATAR of 99.45 (in the top 1% of Australia). Whilst the Dux for the Class of 2016 Cohort (November graduation) received an IB mark of 34 and notional ATAR of 92.30. We congratulate all students on their dedication, commitment and focus in achieving their outstanding results.
Though we are an open-entry School, we consistently achieve some of the finest outcomes of any school in Australia. Through their years at Sophia Mundi our students have engaged with the academic rigors of the combined Steiner and IB curriculums, explored the performing arts with dedicated Strings, Music and Drama programs, discovered the beautiful terrains of Australia through the Outdoor Education curriculum and grown through International Exchange experiences – contributing to communities around the world.
The Class of 2016 have enriched our lives and clearly demonstrated the leadership, purpose, values and empathy that define our students. Our Year 12 graduates are the change leaders of tomorrow and we welcome them now into the Alumnae community of Sophia Mundi. It has been our privilege to be an integral part of shaping their lives and wish them success in all their future endeavours.
