Little Yarra Steiner School
Class 9 construct new desks for Classes 1 & 2
Little Yarra Steiner School’s Class 9 recently undertook a Main Lesson in Building and Construction. With enrolments growing in the junior years, the school needed a new class set of bespoke desks for class 1 and 2 students.
Using offcuts from the recent replacement of the floor in the gym, students worked in small groups to measure and cut timber, glue and clamp boards together to make tops and legs, mark out joinery for, and then assemble the frames, attach tops, complete lots of sanding and finally apply oil to the finished product. Special thanks to Christian who assisted one morning with his Domino machine. The class worked really well and should be proud of their work!Dec 2023
