Linuwel School is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced teacher for a temporary full-time position commencing in Semester 1 2023.

Linuwel is a K-12 school and preschool for Steiner education with approximately 300 students, established in 1979. It is situated in a semi-rural setting on Wonnarua country in the Hunter Valley, surrounded by farmland and historic towns and villages, close to Newcastle and an hour from Nelson Bay. Linuwel is committed to supporting reconciliation, inclusivity, restorative practice, and working out of best practice by maintaining the core principles of Steiner education while incorporating current educational research. The role will include:

  • Teaching History Main Lessons classes 7-10
  • Running Visual Arts for Classes 7 -10
  • Running a Visual Arts elective for Classes 9 and 10
  • completing all relevant documentation and maintaining records


  • qualifications and experience teaching Stage 4 and 5 History
  • qualifications and experience teaching Stage 4 and 5 Visual Arts
  • demonstrated ability to plan lessons that meet the developmental needs of the students (from a Steiner pedagogical perspective) as well as ASCF and NESA outcomes
  • demonstrated ability to provide adjustments to support all students to access the curriculum
  • demonstrated ability to assess student learning
  • strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills

Highly regarded: ability and willingness to

  • Provide learning support in High School Mathematics lessons (Stage 4 and/ or Stage 5)
  • Offer classes in Design and Technology
  • Offer classes in STEAM or Discovery Learning type activities
  • Work with Primary Classes 4 – 6

You will need to have an interest in Steiner education and be willing to participate in relevant professional development.
