“At Perth Waldorf School we are committed to promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of children and young people and expect all school staff, parents, students, volunteers and visitors to the school to share that commitment”
This is a unique and dynamic role for a person on a growth trajectory. You will work collaboratively with the Class 7 teacher at this pioneer campus of the Perth Waldorf School.
You will fulfill a myriad of roles that will strengthen your understanding of Steiner Education and develop your management and leadership skills. The opportunity to watch and learn from an experience Steiner teacher is a strength of this role.
We are seeking someone who can act as a teacher, assistant teacher, learning support teacher, administrative support officer and campus manager. You will be employed full time as a teacher and be committed to helping wherever you are needed. Taking initiative and having a ‘can-do’ attitude are essential.
The role would suit someone who likes a challenge in a nurturing and student centered environment where you can teach a curriculum that is holistic, creative and structured beautifully to meet the needs of young people at their stage of development.
In 2022, there will be one Year 7 class but each year that number will grow, up to Year 12 in 2027. Your role will grow with it. You will be supported and empowered to develop as a teacher both professionally and personally. This is a role that would suit a person who loves being of service to others, who loves taking initiative but can also take direction and a person who is attracted to multiple roles in the one position. In many ways, you have the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and feel of the campus for the future. These opportunities are rare.
Having training in upper primary teaching or High School teaching, we will find a way to balance your background and specialty with the needs of the curriculum and timetable. The ability to teacher LOTE, PE or music would be an advantage.
The Parkerville campus is being built now and will start with 6 purpose built classrooms located in a scenic Hills location beside Silver Tree Steiner School in Parkerville. Perth Waldorf School provides a Steiner education from Playgroup to Class 12. The work environment is positive and enriching.
