Aurora School is located in Bowral, NSW. We are a small, young, rapidly growing, K-9 school currently running composite classes. 2022 will see the addition of Year 10, and we will be delivering the International Baccalaureate for Years 11 and 12 from 2023. 

Aurora Southern Highlands Steiner School is seeking expressions of interest from dedicated and innovative High School Teaching Specialists. We are seeking teachers who can work with a spirit of collegiality to further build our high school in a way that allows for the healthy development of students. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our current dynamic school with a potential view to leadership opportunities as we grow.

Target subject areas include:

  • Science (priority subject area)
  • Technology
  • HSIE

Highly desirable skills include:

  • A commitment to Steiner education
  • International Baccalaureate training and teaching experience, or willingness to take on the required training
  • A pioneering attitude including collaboration, decision making, adaptability, creative problem solving, energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to plan, lead, record and assess teaching programs
  • Skills in multiple subject areas

We are looking for specialist teachers who can add value to our program, be innovative in their approach and work with others to achieve the aim of a successful K-12 Steiner School by 2024. 

Aurora staff work collaboratively and professionally with a strong focus on student learning and a love of children. We are committed to developing healthy, purposeful education for today’s world and challenging students to continually improve. Our rich learning program across the grades includes specialist teachers in Eurythmy, Craft, Visual Arts and Music. Students in Year 9 and 10 will participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
