Position Title: Playgroup Co-Ordinator
Start Date: Term 1 2024
Hours of Duty: Thursday and Friday 8am – 12pm (Term time only)
Faculty: Early Childhood
Responsible to: Preschool Co-Ordinator

Noosa Pengari Steiner School first opened its doors in 1996 and has now established itself as a strong independent school offering a Steiner/Waldorf Education for students from Kinder to Class 12. We currently cater for 350 students from 200 families and continue to grow as our high school develops.
Primary Objective
The Playgroup Leader facilitates the Playgroup program on behalf of Noosa Pengari Steiner School, working with the philosophy and principles of Steiner Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate a weekly term-time playgroup program
- Plan appropriate activities conducive to a Steiner Playgroup
- Provide a safe environment for both parents and children
- Establish strong working relationships with parents fostering an atmosphere of acceptance and learning
- Act as a role model to children and parents
- Follow School reporting and emergency procedures
- Record attendances
Selection Criteria
- A whole-hearted interest for young children
- A willingness to deepen own understanding of a Steiner approach to Early Childhood Education
- A long-term commitment to working with young children in a nurturing, family-oriented environment
- Patience, equanimity, endurance, enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to communicate well with staff, children and parents.
- A willingness to receive instruction and an openness to working as a team member
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate 3 in Early Childhood, Education and Care or working towards this qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates or willingness to obtain prior to commencement of employment
- A current Blue Card or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement of employment
- Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia
