Parkerville Steiner College Coordinator

Parkerville Steiner College Coordinator

1.0 FTE

This is a leadership position. You will be excited as the College is established to work collaboratively with a small staff to be instrumental in developing this new campus of the very successful Perth Waldorf School.

You will take charge and you will exude a sense of purpose and confidence. You will make decisions in the best interests of the staff, the students and their families.

In any one day you may be deciding how to fill a vacant teaching position, what will be the waste removal company for the campus, touring a family through the new campus, administering first aid, organising Professional Development for staff members, ordering classroom supplies, creating budget requests, designing a landscape plan with the gardener and coaching a teacher with a difficult classroom situation. Tomorrow will bring new challenges. No two days are ever the same.

The Steiner Curriculum is awesome, and the student and teacher satisfaction is already stratospheric but this is a new campus and how are you going to maintain the quality and consistency with the established school down in Bibra Lake? It’ll be exciting and require creativity and ‘can-do’ enthusiasm. You’ll want to tailor what happens in Parkerville to the unique Perth Hills, while aligning the College with Perth Waldorf School to achieve synergies and consistency.

You will have the opportunity to work with a positive and forward focused leadership team who place positive student experience of the Steiner curriculum as the driver of their work, not assessment, fads or bureaucracy.

‘Build it and they will come’ may work in the movies but you will need to promote the College and grow it using effective marketing tools and authentic experiences. Do you have experience in growing a school’s enrolments and the processes needed to do so?

If you have the type of social emotional intelligence and strength of character that means people love working with you and you have their respect, please apply and reap the rewards of a great position in a successful and fast growth environment. You will be well remunerated.

The Perth Waldorf School is a Playgroup to Year 12 school with 600 children. The Parkerville College will have Class 7 and 8 in 2023 with more than 35 children. By 2027 there will be Year 7 to 12 classes on site and maximum student population of 200 students.

The College is located in a natural setting in the Perth Hills, 45 minutes from the CBD beside the gorgeous Silver Tree Steiner School (K-6). The potential synergies between the two schools and incorporating the natural environment into the daily experience of students and staff are immense.
