Learning Support in Class 7 and 8 (0.6FTE)

The School seeks the services of a Learning Support Teacher for Classes 7, 8 and 9 to provide support for the students in the High School. The position is part-time, three days per week (0.6FTE) and would start as soon as possible.
The learning support teacher would play a key role in ensuring that the specific needs of students with additional learning and support needs are met and would:
- Support teachers in identifying and responding to the additional learning needs of students.
- Implement individual and small group intervention programs.
- Create Individual Learning Support Plans for students with additional needs.
- Collaborate with staff, parents and carers, and other professionals.
The successful applicant will have a passion for education, appropriate qualifications to identify and support High School students in need, a collaborative approach in overseeing the programme in the High School and a willingness and flexibility of character to work within the Steiner pedagogy and philosophy. Experience with Sounds-Write and teaching mathematics is highly valued.
Applicants must have permission to work in Western Australia, be a registered teacher with TRBWA and hold (or be eligible to apply) a Working with Children Check.

The school is located in a bushland setting in the southern suburbs of Perth, Australia (approx.
20 minutes from the CBD). Nearby is the popular and cosmopolitan town of Fremantle, and the school is only 15 minutes from the coast. We provide a full Steiner curriculum from Playgroup to Class 12. We also have a separate campus for Classes 7 to 12 in Parkerville.
