High School English and Humanities Teacher Part Time (0.55 FTE)

Where: The school is located in a bushland setting in the southern suburbs of Perth, Australia (approx. 20 minutes from the CBD). Nearby is the popular and cosmopolitan town of Fremantle and the school is only 15 minutes from the coast. We provide a full Steiner curriculum from Playgroup to Class 12.
Who: We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our wonderful team of teachers and commence with our High School students in Term 3, 2019. The teaching load is spread across 5 days, though classes would not commence before 10:30am. There is the potential for a future increase in the teaching load.
The successful applicant will have a passion for education, appropriate qualifications to teach English and HaSS and have a willingness to adopt the Steiner pedagogy and philosophy.
Applicants must be teachers who are registered (or eligible for registration) with the Teacher Registration Board and can meet West Australian child protection requirements. Support to sponsor a highly qualified Steiner teacher from overseas will be considered.
The Perth Waldorf School has a full Steiner curriculum that includes the Main Lesson approach in the mornings supplemented with Practice Lessons in the later classes. Within clear guidelines teachers are encouraged to create their own learning programs that maximise engagement and learning in the students. All staff are well supported to be creative and enthusiastic and to continually develop themselves and their teaching.
