As the first Steiner School in Australia, Glenaeon has built a fine heritage of pioneering work in innovative education for over 60 years. We now educate some 500 students from Preschool to Year 12 across three campuses at Castlecrag, Middle Cove and Willoughby on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. This position is based at our bushland Middle Cove campus.
Music is embedded in our school culture and we seek a highly skilled and passionate musician who is committed to bringing quality learning experiences to students. The role has Head of Department responsibilities and overall responsibility for classroom music teaching from Year 4 to HSC, and for the co-curricular music program including the peripatetic music tuition. The successful candidate should be an experienced musician and teacher qualified to teach in NSW, one who is able to support the ethos and creative pedagogy of a Rudolf Steiner school. Successful experience with HSC Stage 6, both Music 1 and Music 2 including Extension, is essential. The ability to direct and inspire students in co-curricular music ensembles is also essential. Piano accompaniment skills would be an advantage.
Employment for teachers at Glenaeon is based on the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement. The successful candidate must also provide a Working With Children Clearance prior to commencing.
