Handcraft Specialist Teacher – Classes 3-5, 2023

Samford Valley Steiner School (SVSS) is seeking applications for a Handcraft Specialist Teacher commencing in January 2023 to work in the Primary School from Classes 3 -5.

The position is a one-year fixed-term, part-time contract over 3 days at 0.6 FTE, commencing at the beginning of January 2023 and ending 12th December 2022.

Applicants will ideally have:

  • QCT Teacher Registration
  • A solid grounding in Steiner Education and demonstrate experience and ability to work with the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework –Technologies Curriculum.

The successful applicant will also have demonstrated, exemplary skills in a wide range of handwork disciplines, and demonstrate a love of working with children as they develop skills in creating beautiful handcraft projects.

Samford Valley Steiner School is situated in the beautiful, rural setting of Samford Valley, and yet is still located within proximity to Brisbane CBD; a vibrant, multicultural, cosmopolitan city. The beautiful sandy beaches of the Sunshine Coast are only one and a half hours to the north and the beaches of the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales are one to two hours to the south. The school is situated on 20 acres of forested land along Samford Creek. 

The school is 35 years old and is a strong and vibrant educational facility providing an authentic Steiner Education to students from Pre-Prep through to Class 12. Student numbers are up to 480 and growing. We have a vibrant staff combining youth and experience and a stable organisational structure. The College of Teachers sits at the heart of the structure and advises a Senior Leadership Team, comprising of representatives of the different areas of the school, and a School Director who is accountable to a governance Board.
