European Language Specialist 2021

European Language Specialist 2021

Aurora School is located in Bowral, NSW. We are a small, young, rapidly growing, K-8 school currently running composite classes. 2021 will see the school move into a single stream class structure for K-4 plus the addition of Year 9. We are working toward delivering the International Baccalaureate for Years 11 and 12 from 2023.

Aurora Southern Highlands Steiner School is seeking expressions of interest from a dedicated and innovative Language Teaching Specialist. We are seeking a teacher who can work with a spirit of collegiality to further build the language program in our school in a way that allows for the healthy development of students. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our current dynamic school.

The school currently offers Japanese, and in 2021 we are hoping to add a European language, particularly in the High School.

Highly desirable skills include:

  • A commitment to Steiner education
  • Ability to teach language to High School students
  • IB or Middle Years training or experience
  • A pioneering attitude including collaboration, decision making, adaptability, creative problem solving, energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to plan, lead, record and assess teaching programs
  • Leadership
  • Skills in multiple subject areas

We look for specialist teachers who can add value to our program, be innovative in their approach and work with others to achieve the aim of a successful K-12 Steiner School by 2024.

Aurora staff work collaboratively and professionally with a strong focus on student learning and a love of children. We are committed to developing healthy, purposeful education for today’s world and challenging students to continually improve. Our rich learning program across the grades includes specialist teachers in Eurythmy, Craft and Music.

NESA approval to teach and Working with Children Check are essential.
