Glenaeon educates some 500 students from Preschool to Year 12 across three campuses at Castlecrag, Middle Cove and Willoughby on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. We foster professional growth and provide experienced mentoring for our teaching staff in a collaborative environment.
The Director of Teaching is a new position at Glenaeon that will lead, coach and support teaching in the Middle and Senior Schools. The person in this role will develop a strong and vibrant quality teaching culture, working to combine best practice in teaching and learning in general, and Steiner Education in particular. The position will support teachers in their professional learning and development plans to meet accreditation requirements, as well as supporting Steiner pedagogy as expressed in the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework. The position has a teaching load of up to 0.5.
To be considered for the role you will ideally have experience as a teacher to HSC level in one of English, Science, Mathematics, History or Geography; combined with expertise in teaching practices and methodologies and the ability to model and facilitate skill development with teaching colleagues. You will be registered as a Teacher with NESA and have a demonstrated commitment to the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework for Years 7-10. Relevant post-graduate qualifications would be an advantage.
Salary will be in accordance with experience and classification under the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2017. The successful candidate must also provide a Working With Children Clearance prior to commencing.
