Craft Assistant

West Coast Steiner School invites applications for a part-time Craft Assistant to work in our Primary school classes for 2022, commencing in Term 1.

At West Coast Steiner School, we are committed to promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of children and expect all school staff to share that commitment.

Our school is located 15 minutes north of Perth in a beautiful setting in Nollamara. We provide a co-educational Steiner education from Baby Group to Class 6.

We are seeking an enthusiastic lover of crafts to join the school in the role of Craft Assistant. Competency with knitting and crochet skills is essential and a proficient level of sewing and cross stitch skills is desirable. Experience and the patience to assist children to learn these skills is also desirable. An understanding of Steiner education would be an asset but is not essential. The successful applicant will support the ethos of our school and be willing to participate on a path of professional development in Steiner Education.

The successful applicant will assist the teacher in delivering craft lessons to children from Classes 1-6, encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment and will always work under supervision of the teacher.

Applicants must have permission to work in Western Australia, hold a current Working with Children Check and be willing to meet current Government COVID mandates.

For preliminary confidential enquiries or conversations about this position, please telephone Cheryl Kershaw at the school on (08) 9440 1771.

Written applications, including a CV and two referees, should be marked ‘Private & Confidential’ and sent to The Principal, Jenny Dougan on education@wcss.wa.edu.au

Applications close Friday 3 December at 5pm.
