We are seeking a Business Manager for an on-going position, beginning Term 3, 2023.  The Business Manager is a member of the School Executive, responsible for ensuring the School maintains a strong financial position. They prepare annual budgets in consultation with the School Executive and Council and report against these on a monthly basis. They are responsible for ensuring the school is compliant with all relevant legislation, for overseeing purchasing and payroll processes, IR and debtor management. The successful applicant for this position will need to be eligible for a Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People card.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, who relishes working collaboratively, fostering strong relationships which allows for individual and organisational growth. They will have a genuine interest in education and an openness to balancing their own beliefs with Anthroposophy.

Tarremah is a well-established, vibrant independent school situated fifteen minutes south of Hobart, near a beautiful nature reserve, beaches and kunyani/Mt Wellington. The school has turned thirty and is governed by a dynamic and capable group of community members. It is managed collaboratively by an Executive group consisting of Faculty Representatives, the Business Manager, Education Administrator, Education Facilitator and School Chair following a republican model. Every individual holding responsibility for the School’s oversight are called upon to aspire to a spirit of service inspired by ideals of inclusivity, the cultivation of the individual and care for the collective ‘good’.

Tarremah offers classes from Playgroup to Class 10 and has a school population of around 300 students. Our location allows us to take advantage of Tasmania’s wilderness, world heritage areas, coastlines, and indigenous cultural sites. The city of Hobart offers a vibrant cultural life that rivals larger cities, while its smaller size makes more of this culture accessible to everyone.
