SEA Leadership Development Program 2 Day Intensive

  • Date Jul 7 2022 - Jul 8 2022
  • Venue Noosa Pengari Steiner School

How can we re-imagine Steiner’s vision for School leadership  and Teacher leadership today in our various locations in Australia?

Steiner (1923/2004) held a radical vision for social renewal which he observed will come about through the ‘re-membering’ of the four branches of culture: science, art, spirituality and ethics. Like many educators, Steiner recognised that schools are the engine of social and cultural change and spiritual revitalization. With the goal of social renewal in mind, Steiner  set about embedding core principles of his Philosophy of Freedom (1894/1964) in the pedagogy.

The SEA Leadership Intensive in July offers a unique face-to-face learning opportunity for Steiner school leaders, teachers, and newcomers to come together so that we can work towards a deepened understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of Steiner Waldorf pedagogy, and an enhanced practical grasp of how to enact collaborative school leadership. In the lectures key principles of Steiner pedagogy and teaching methods will be highlighted, and thematic connections between school and teacher leadership, teacher research, child study, and curriculum development and evaluation in the current context will be clarified and reviewed. In our workshops we will identify and share strategies for how the principles and guidelines for curriculum evaluation and collaborative leadership can be embedded in daily school routines, practices and policies.

The Intensive will start at 9am on Thursday 7 July, and finish at 4.30pm Friday 8 July.

The cost is $600 + GST per participant.
