January 7-10, 2020: 4-day Steiner Education Masterclasses at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
With a focus on an authentic Education of Place, and First Nations Ways of Being and Knowing, our new 2020 integrated model of Steiner Education Masterclasses offers participants a dynamic, cross-curricular process-based experience for early childhood, primary or high school Steiner teachers. The courses are aimed at educators in Steiner schools who would like to deepen and expand their practice and pedagogy, questioning, questing, creating rich, relevant content and progressions for the year ahead. The 4 full-day experience will give participants a USC certificate of participation for 28 hours of Professional Development. With an added assessment piece this will be counted as a full course in the upcoming 8 course Diploma in Waldorf/Steiner Education that will be offered at USC in 2021.
For those new to Steiner Education, please register for our 1 day Introduction to Steiner Education, (7 hours) which will run on Monday January 6th, 2020. This is a prerequisite for anyone wanting to complete the Masterclass who does not have experience in Steiner Education. This will also give participants credit towards a course in the upcoming Diploma in Waldorf/Steiner Education offered in 2021.
Using Rudolf Steiner’s insights on child development and engaging with contemporary issues in education, the Masterclasses offer a unique opportunity for those working in Steiner schools to facilitate expansive and supportive learning experiences and environments for children from birth to 18 years old.
Course facilitators will include coordinator Dr Shelley Davidow from USC’s School of Education, First Nations artists and educators Waiata Telfer and Peter Mulcahy, as well as lecturer Dr Bronwen Haralambous and early childhood educator Carol Liknaitzky.
Keep an eye out: details and more information will be available from September at the website below or you can contact coordinator Dr Shelley Davidow at http://firstname.lastname@example.org
